Twiddled thumbs have gone and worn a deep hole,
In fabrics of timeless occupation.
The urge to up and leave consumes my soul,
I tap my foot in anticipation.
I've tread this ground but one too many times,
To notice when the air has gotten stale.
I see my life presented clear in signs,
Out there I see the next step in my tale.
I must run back to where my heart doth lay,
But it can wait until tomorrow's day.

Tunnel-Vision
Watch out for where the spotlight shows its light,
Is not the site where keen eyes should linger.
Enemy slain, but does not end our fight,
Horrors lurk if we don't point our fingers.
Atrocity is present in our midst,
Don't let good fortune send you out to sea.
No blind eyed turned on good I must insist.
Our words, our minds, must act as sentry.
We guard our world from those who'd see it harmed,
One victory must not just leave us charmed.

That Time of Year
Pomp and circumstance shall flow through the air,
But some care not for such frivolous things;
Their walls unadorned by favors unshared,
Bragging rights best left to great mouths of kings.
Tassels left lying for cold rains of spring,
No thoughts yet given to brazen class rings,
Black robes crumpled up upon a bare floor,
Diploma earned just to settle a score,
With the world today, and those still in it,
To prove his options still were infinite.

Tiaras and Flashbulbs
I'm at a loss to royal blood, my friend
A wedding for which knee and back will bend.
The future king and future queen will wed,
What business of ours is it where they bed?
Media frenzy lights up cable news,
For worthless celebs in gem-studded shoes.
The Royal Couple just might be alright,
But tax payer money drains out of sight.
William and Kate should be happy in life,
But far from the public's all seeing gaze,
And safe from the cutting media's knife.

What business of ours is it where they bed?

Improv In Pentameter
Is this the first of many posts I make?
Assuredly for all my words must add
To this fine blog from which I freely take
Comments of praise and from those truely mad.
A B A B as quite a simple scheme,
A A B B for two, see what I mean?
It takes much time, to write this prose in rhyme,
But much reward will show itself in time.
